O there’s sunshine, blessed sunshine,
While the peaceful, happy moments roll;
When Jesus shows His smiling face
There is sunshine in my soul.
Oh, the story of a blog.
I’ve been blogging for uh, three years now. (as of 1.30.19)
It started out at motssurunepage.wordpress.com
And that was the name. Mots Sur Une Page. It was “Words On A Page,” in French, I believe. Fifteen year old me was quite happy with that. Sixteen year old me wasn’t. I translated the title to English. And then I decided I was just going to start a new site altogether. And so, Sunshine In My Soul was born.
Obviously, it’s a line from a hymn. (I like hymns.)
See, my middle name is Sunshine. I love joyful things. I love seeing the lessons I can learn and the beauty that comes even from the negative. And I love more than anything to show others the joy of life.
1 Thessalonians 5:16 says, “Rejoice evermore.” It’s a grand little verse!
So I chose the name Sunshine In My Soul.
It embodies who I am, it shows a love for my Savior through the lyrics of the hymn, and it’s a reminder to share the Light of Jesus with those I meet.
